A kink event is a building, a guest list, and a set of rules. "Hottest" does not tell you whether you can get in, whether play is allowed, or whether you will be fit to drive home. This page is how to read a listing. Dates for the current East Coast season are in the fall list and the winter list. Both of those can go stale. The calendar is the list that gets corrected.
Read this before you pay
- Match the format. A munch, a class, a dungeon night, a hotel takeover, a camp, and a public expo are not the same event.
- Read the age, the membership rule, and the photography rule. Then read them again on the organizer's site.
- East Coast Kink Events does not sell the ticket. The organizer does.
- A hotel that is named only after you pay is a real planning risk. Decide whether you accept it before you check out.
- Showing up is not consent to play, to photos, or to sex.
Six kinds of listings
A munch is a social meal or a bar hour. People are clothed. Play is usually forbidden, and trying to negotiate a scene over the table is how you get uninvited. Use a munch to learn whether you can stand the local crowd. Do not use it as a first date that has to end in impact.
A class is one skill, for a set number of hours, with a person who is supposed to be teaching rather than playing with the room. You can leave. If the class is suspension, fire, breath play, or anything else this library refuses to teach, the class is the place to learn it from an instructor, not a party you wander into because the door was open. One new skill in a night is enough.
A dungeon night is a membership space. Guest rules vary: some nights require a member to sign you in, some sell a first-visit pass, some are closed. A monitor's job is the hazard in front of them. The job is described in what a dungeon monitor does. Do not treat the monitor, the bartender, or the person who checked you in as a prospect who already said yes.
A hotel takeover is several days in a booked hotel: classes in the daytime, play late, sleep in a room you hope is not above the dungeon. The useful questions are which hotel, whether the name is hidden until you pay, what the room block costs on top of the ticket, and what time quiet hours start. KinkyCon Wicked Weekend, November 13 to 15, 2026, at the DoubleTree in Nashua, is an example where the listing names the hotel. Naughty Noel, December 3 to 6 in Gettysburg, is an example where the listing says the hotel names come after you register.
A camp is weather, shared beds, and a longer clock. FORNUCOPIA, October 1 to 4, 2026, in Darlington, Maryland, is the current example: 21+, meals and a cabin bed on the listing, and a registration the listing says already closed. A camp is a bad place to discover you needed a private room and a car that can leave at midnight.
A public expo is a convention hall. EXXXOTICA Edison, October 23 to 25, 2026, at the New Jersey Convention Center, is a vendor show with published hall hours. It is not a dungeon with a door check. Assume strangers, assume cameras, and do not do anything there that you would only do in a members' space.
The lines on the listing that change the weekend
Age is the number printed on the listing. An 18+ hotel, a 19+ party, and a 21+ camp will turn the wrong person away at the door, and they should. No listing on this calendar is open to minors. Adult age play does not change that. The rule is in the age-play article.
Membership and vetting are how closed clubs keep a guest list. If the page says "member or guest of a member," a ticket you bought somewhere else does not override it. If the page says the street address is unpublished, you will not find the building by searching the neighborhood.
Photography is a separate yes from attendance. A ban on phones is a ban. A permission to shoot is still not permission to publish your face, and explicit images can trigger federal record-keeping for the person who produced them. That duty is in the 2257 article.
Price on a roundup is a snapshot. The fall and winter pages quote figures from the calendar, and the organizer can change them. Refund rules matter more than the adjective in the title. If the only information you have is "empowering weekend," you do not yet know what you are buying.
After the last class
Hotel schedules assume you will sleep less than you do at home. Plan water, food, and a check-in the next day. The failure mode is in the drop article: the crash often hits the next afternoon, including for the person who only watched. Do not start a drive, a new scene, or a fight in that window.
If someone ignores a stop, that is not a more intense version of the event. Leave, tell a monitor if you are in a dungeon, and use the steps in the abuse article. A popular presenter does not get a different rule.
