Beyond Vanilla 35: LEGACY

National Leather Alliance – Dallas. The weekend started as 1980s safe-sex seminars by the Disciples of de Sade in a Dallas Gay Alliance back room, became Beyond Vanilla, and moved to NLA-Dallas in 1990. The mission is outreach and education for people new to leather, BDSM, and other sex-positive lives, while supporting LGBTQIA+ communities. DEI language on the about page names BIPOC attendees, the Pride rainbow, and all flavors of kink; the director can refuse anyone who puts the event or attendees at risk.

Published keynote: Mark Frazier. Beyond Vanilla is part of the National AIDS Memorial’s work bringing the Quilt to U.S. communities.

The International LeatherSIR/boy and International Community Bootblack (ILSb-ICBB) contest scheduled for these dates has been cancelled by that board for 2026 for financial reasons. They say they plan to return in October 2027, and that the decision is independent of other groups. They thank Beyond Vanilla. Do not list ILSb-ICBB as a 2026 BV attraction.

HoofCon / HoffCon is still on: pet and pony programming in Exhibit Hall A, including the 4th Annual HoofCon Pony Games Saturday 3–5 p.m. (jumps, pole bending, obstacles, judged by leather titleholders). HoofCon judges named on the site include Pony Freyja (North American Pony leather 2026) and Adelasia. Other published HoofCon blocks: Pet Play 101, mosh, pony accessibility, bio-horse psyche, Pet Exploratorium, DFW Pony Play petting zoo, service-animal dynamics, and Sunday’s Last Stampede parade.

Historically BV has also hosted bootblack, pup/handler, Great Plains Olympus Leather, and (since 2020) the Texas Power Exchange Contest (TXPE), a Beyond Leather IPE feeder. Confirm which of those still sit on the 2026 LEGACY grid — the about page is history; the homepage no longer promises ILSb.

The presenters page is live and still adding names.
