Austin Kink Weekend 2027 runs Thursday, April 29 through Sunday, May 2 at Holiday Inn Austin Midtown, 6000 Middle Fiskville Road. Official copy frames it as a teaching event first: workshops, Texas leather title contests, nightly socials, play spaces, and a maker Gear Market under one hotel roof.
Passes are on Eventeny and on the official tickets page. A General Weekend Pass is $145. A VIP Weekend Pass is $200 and adds a VIP swag bag (pin, t-shirt, extras, drawstring bag) plus a VIP badge and lanyard. Eventeny adds tax and processing on top of those base prices. Both passes include classes and panels, Texas Title Family contests, the Meet and Greet and Cigar Social, nightly special events, and Gear Market access. Day passes go on sale closer to the event and cover that day's programming. Legal ID is required at check-in.
Every class is included with your pass. The 2027 education page describes technique classes (mummification and breath management, hypnosis structure, cane placement, branding risk) taught with consent inside the skill, plus history and culture rooms. Sessions are marked Intro or 102. Formats include workshops with optional practice, live demos, panels, talks, and talk circles. Hands-on work is always opt-in. Several rooms run at once.
The Texas Title Family on the 2027 tickets page is Mr., Ms., and Mx. Texas Leather, Texas Bootblack, Texas Pet & Handler, and Texas Rubber Ambassador. Contestants must be 21 by April 1, 2027, Texas residents, and LGBTQ+. Application fee is $25 per contest, with hardship exceptions. Watching from the audience is a normal way to spend the weekend.
Classes, contests, the Gear Market, and parties happen in this building. Book the group rate from the official hotel page. Overflow options listed there are Candlewood Suites Austin North (8000 Cross Park Dr) and Baymont by Wyndham Austin University Area (5812 N Interstate Hwy 35), each about ten minutes away. The hotel is a working IHG property with about 15,000 square feet of meeting space, a lobby bar and bistro, a fitness center, and free parking with no validation. Public areas stay street-legal and PG. Toys travel in a bag. RED is the weekend safe word. Dungeon Masters are in play spaces while they are open. First-timers can tell check-in it is their first AKW. The Bootblack Lounge is a place to watch without playing.
